  • The preferred hotel for taking children to the aquarium. Hotel location: the location of the hotel may be the best in Lujiazui, better than the location in Shangri-La, the Binjiang Avenue is behind the hotel, the Oriental Pearl crossing the road, the cross river tunnel is at the entrance of the hotel, Disney flagship store is 200 meters south of the hotel, and the Lujiazui subway station is 500 meters. When you get out of the subway, you can see this hotel at a glance. It's very characteristic! Accommodation environment: I booked a garden view room. I walked into the hotel in the drizzle at night. I thought I wouldn't go to see the night view at night. I asked the front desk if I could change to a river view room. The front desk didn't hesitate to change to a luxury suite! The beautiful scenery outside the window! Because I can't go out at night, I swim in the hotel. The swimming pool and gym are great. The heating is enough. The swimming pool is warm and the gym is cool! Very user-friendly. This time I stayed in two different hotels in Shanghai for two days. They are all five-star hotels. Compared with the former, the hotel gives me the greatest feeling that the bed is very comfortable and there are multiple choices of pillows. The key is that the sheets and quilt covers have no taste of disinfectant. Unlike the previous accommodation, I always feel that the smell of quilt disinfectant is too heavy. Jacuzzi and humanized charging facilities! Front desk service: the check-in and check-out speed is very fast. If there are foreigners and foreign lobby service personnel, they are particularly humanized and do not check in. They check out directly!Superior Garden-view Room

Travelogue

  • I have mastered both the efficiency of Lujiazui and the relaxation of the river view when staying at the hotel for business trips

This time I came to Shanghai to attend the industry summit, I directly booked my accommodation at Oriental Riverside Bund View Hotel (Shanghai International Convention Center). Originally, I only planned for it to have complete venue facilities and be close to the office buildings in Lujiazui. After staying for three days, I realized that it was a "worry free ceiling" tailor-made for business travelers, balancing the efficiency and rare relaxation that business trips need perfectly.
For attendees, location is the first necessity. The hotel is located in the core area of Lujiazui Riverside, just a 7-minute walk from Lujiazui Station on Metro Line 2. I was carrying a suitcase filled with conference materials, so I didn't have to take a detour or bask in the midday sun in Shanghai. What's even more reassuring is that the main venue for this conference is located in the Shanghai Hall on the seventh floor of the hotel. I don't have to go out half an hour early to take a taxi to the conference venue like in previous years. I can sleep for a full 20 minutes every morning, saving me from the panic of rushing to the morning rush hour. Within a radius of 3 kilometers, 90% of the top office buildings in Lujiazui are covered. After the meeting, customers can discuss matters and walk for 10 minutes to nearby business cafes, so there is no need to waste time in traffic jams.
The room fully meets all the needs of business travelers: a 1.4-meter-wide independent office area is reserved in a 37 square meter space, and Type-C and USB dual fast charging interfaces are reserved on the desktop, so there is no need to look for adapters everywhere. I have continuously revised the 3-hour summit speech, and the matching ergonomic chair provides sufficient support, without any soreness in the waist. The Jiangjingfang in the High District has fully opened up the view of the Bund and Huangpu River. If you look up at the river surface after changing the plan, your tense nerves will instantly relax. The free mineral water and tea bags in the mini bar were replenished very frequently. I stayed up late to organize my information until 2 o'clock, and the front desk even specially brought a cup of freshly ground hot coffee when passing by. The details were all perfect.
What surprised me most was the professionalism of the conference facilities: 21 multi-function conference halls covered everything from a small venue with 50 people to a pillarless banquet hall with a capacity of 3000 people. At the 1000 people summit I attended, the simultaneous interpreting equipment in 10 languages operated steadily throughout the whole process, completely free of the signal jam problem encountered in previous meetings in other hotels. The business center of the hotel is open 24 hours a day. Before going to bed, I found that I needed to print 5 additional contract documents. It took me 5 minutes to finish processing them downstairs, and even the thickness of the printing paper was selected for the contract special payment I wanted.
At the end of my three-day trip, I wasn't as tired as usual from business trips and just wanted to catch the high-speed train home. Before checking out, I took a half-hour break and walked along the hotel's riverside promenade, enjoying the breeze of the Huangpu River. This landmark hotel, which has hosted welcome parties for APEC summits and World Expos, understands business travelers the most not because of its reputation, but because it has carefully considered all the "troublesome" details for you in advance. In the future, when I come to Lujiazui, Shanghai for business trips, I will definitely use this place as a fixed foothold.Show more

  • Moving into the river view room, I caught the morning and evening of the Huangpu River

This time in Shanghai, I deliberately avoided the internet famous check-in hotels and chose the Oriental Riverside Bund View Hotel (Shanghai International Convention Center) hidden in the core of Lujiazui. After staying for two nights, I finally realized that this double sphere landmark, which has been named one of the "Top Ten Classic Buildings of the 50th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China", is not just a "backdrop" for international conferences. It blends the calmness of old Shanghai with the comfort of modern hotels into the most down-to-earth hotel experience.
It's only a 7-minute walk from Lujiazui subway station. Pushing open the thick glass doors, there's no deliberate sense of luxury. The tall lobby is filled with a faint fragrance. When checking in at the front desk, I was specifically reminded that the balcony of the room faces the Huangpu River, so there's no need to set an alarm in the morning. You can open the curtains to watch the sunrise. The newly renovated guest rooms in 2019 have no sense of the old buildings. The 40 square meter river view room I stayed in was caught by a 270 degree view at the moment I opened the door - the world's buildings on the Bund spread along the river, and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower is located 60 meters away from the slope, and even the light band of the cruise ship on the river can be clearly seen.
What surprised me the most was the attention to detail: foldable tables and chairs were reserved on the viewing balcony, a cup of Qimen black tea prepared by the hotel was brewed in the afternoon, leaning against the railing to blow the river breeze, and even the faint sound of the Bund bell in the distance could be heard particularly clearly. The softness and hardness of the bedding are just suitable for someone like me who travels all year round. I won't make any abnormal noise when turning over at night, and I won't feel any discomfort when sleeping until dawn. The bathroom has a full glass dry wet separation system, with 24-hour constant temperature hot water that can be turned on and out. Even the wind speed of the hair dryer is adjusted just right, unlike many old hotels where hair is still wet after blowing for half a day.
What's even more striking is the sense of relaxation hidden in daily life: the indoor heated swimming pool on the 9th floor is almost deserted, swimming a few laps and leaning against the edge of the pool. Looking up, you can see the neon lights of Lujiazui through the skylight. After swimming, you can go to the nearby fitness center to stretch, and all the equipment is imported professional. Running in front of the river is much more comfortable than in a closed gym. I didn't want to go out to look for food at night, so I ordered the Jinjiang food in the Chinese restaurant and sold it to my room. The cooking temperature was just right. Even the dishes were the same as those in the dining room. I ate in the night view of the Bund outside the window, which was much better than the online celebrity restaurant waiting in line outside.
I originally thought that this hotel, which had hosted the APEC summit and the World Expo welcome party, would exude a serious sense of distance everywhere. However, when I actually stayed there, I realized that it was completely different: when I passed by the corridor when I returned to my room at night, the cleaning lady would smile and remind me that the river breeze was cool at night, so remember to close the balcony door; I wanted to find a nearby niche walking route, and the front desk directly drew me a map of the riverside trail from the hotel to Pudong Art Museum, clearly indicating where I could take pictures of the deserted Bund view.
Previously, when I came to Shanghai, I always thought about rushing to tourist attractions and crowded with internet famous hotels, but this time I slowed down after staying at Oriental Riverside Bund View Hotel (Shanghai International Convention Center). There's no need to search for a spot, no need to rush for a check-in spot. Wake up and see the sunrise on the river dyeing the building orange. Lie down at night and watch the lights on both sides sway along the water flow. The most touching thing about this landmark hotel, which has seen countless grand scenes, is never its highlight passing by, but its willingness to safely hand over the most relaxed river scenery to every guest.Show more
